Canyon has arrived in Canada

We’re so excited to bring Canyon to Canada and we’re equally excited to meet you, too. First, we’d like to introduce ourselves and show you what we’re all about.

We’re finally here and we couldn’t be more excited to get the wheels in motion in Canada. Since we’re the new kids round here, we’d like to share a bit about us first. It’s only polite and we’d love for you to introduce yourselves over on our social channels when you can.

Who is Canyon and where do we come from?

Canyon Bicycles was founded in Koblenz, Germany in 2002, but our roots go back much further than that. Back in the mid-1980s, our founder Roman Arnold laid the foundations of the philosophy that we live by right now – to Democratise Performance, with a direct relationship between manufacturer and customer. Back then, Roman raced bikes, supported by his father. Together they recognised a new opportunity to sell parts, clothing, and bikes during these races. They imported all their wares themselves from Italy in their own small trailer, and then sold it all on directly to their new customers. Ever since then, we’ve been convinced that nothing compares to a direct-to-customer model. Just you, us, and the passion for the bikes we share. And by sticking to our convictions, we’ve helped shape an entire industry.

Fast forward to today. Right now, Canyon is one of the most innovative bike brands in the world. Our design is a byword for excellence. We constantly strive to develop award-winning bikes across every category. Road, gravel, triathlon, hybrids, urban bikes, mountain bikes, gravity bikes – we’re number one across the board.

And our pro athletes have proven it time after time with their long track record of success, with names including Lionel Sanders, Jan Frodeno, Emily Batty, Ceylin del Carmen-Alvarado, Mathieu van der Poel, the Canyon CLLCTV (featuring Mark Wallace), and the Movistar and CANYON//SRAM Racing teams.

What are the benefits of Canyon’s direct-to-consumer model for me as a customer?

Plain and simple: it means you get the best bike for the best price. Why? For one thing, the fact that we have a direct line with you, the customer, lets us hear what you want directly from you – not through a dealer. Moreover, getting rid of the middleman means that you pay less for your bike. Sounds good, right?

Can I get buying advice from Canyon?

We know how important it is to feel 100% comfortable on your bike. That's why we staff our Global Service Centre with expert employees who can provide you with comprehensive advice – by phone, chat, or email – and all in your own language. Our agents can help you with all the information you can’t find on our website. And when it comes to bike sizing, our PPS (Perfect Positioning System) draws on thousands of data sets collected over years of helping customers get the perfect fit – so you‘re guaranteed to get your bike in the perfect size.

Will I need to build the bike when it arrives?

Before your bike is even shipped, we fully assemble it and set it up in our facility, just like how your local dealer would do. Then, we disassemble some parts and pack it securely in our custom-developed Bike Guard box. When your Canyon arrives at your home, you can reassemble it in a few simple steps, then get out riding right away. We include an assembly guide in the Bike Guard, and there’s more detailed information on our website – for example in our helper videos. We provide all the tools and accessories you need (e.g. torque wrench and assembly paste) in the Bike Guard.

How does Canyon provide after-sales service? Do I have to send the bike back to Germany?

Of course, if you want, you can send your bike to our technical service experts here at our Canyon HQ in Koblenz. However, that takes a while – and we understand that every day on the bike is precious. That's why we work with a specialist home repair partner, velofix. Just make an appointment with velofix online and a trained mechanic will come to your home or office to inspect your bike. Velofix mechanics are trained by us and have access to the right parts to fix your Canyon bike.

Velofix also provides expert help on everything to do with maintenance, warranty, guarantee, repair, and assembly. It goes without saying that you can also take your Canyon to your local bike shop for repairs if you want to.

As a Canyon fan, I’d like to join a community of like-minded riders – are there any?

Of course! As a direct-to-customer brand, we’re extremely aware of the importance of having a community all pulling in the same direction. You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Or join the Canyon CLLCTV, a group that unites all riders, from beginners to pros. And if you want to be the first to know about what’s going on at Canyon, from general updates to new bike teasers, then definitely sign up for our newsletter.

Will the full range of Canyon bikes be available in Canada?

We’re really hyped to finally bring our bikes to Canada. So we’re making sure to bring a huge selection of bikes from a number of categories: gravity, road, triathlon, gravel, MTB, cross, urban, and fitness. However, at launch, Canyon e-bikes won’t be available in Canada until we’ve cleared up some remaining import issues, especially regarding the batteries. But, we promise that we’re working on it even as you’re reading these words!

How long will it take Canyon to deliver my bike from Germany to Canada?

That depends on where you are in Canada. We’ve carried out countless delivery tests with our logistics partner UPS and we’re confident that we’ll be able to get your bike to you 1-2 weeks after receiving your order.

What if I need to return my bike?

We offer a 30-day no-questions-asked return policy. We encourage you to assemble, fit and use your new bike to ensure that it exceeds your expectations. Original owners may return their bike for a full refund at any point during the first 30 days of ownership provided the bike is returned in as-new condition. Bikes returned with significant signs of wear or damage will be subject to further Customer Service contact. For further information, see the returns page on our website. As an additional premium service, you can also return your bike through velofix if you don’t fancy disassembling and reboxing your bike yourself.
