What is leasing?

Green Commute Initiative saves you up to 47% of the retail price of your chosen bike and approved accessories. Payments are taken monthly from your salary before tax so you end up paying less for your bike.

You can choose any Canyon bike, including e-bikes, and pair it with a variety of approved accessories.

GCI has no upper limit, but your employer may choose to limit the maximum you can spend, please check with them before applying. Remember to add the cost of the bikeguard and shipping to your order. To use Green Commute Initiative you must be a UK resident and employee of a UK company.

How to order with Green Commute Initiative

Step 1 - First, make a Canyon account. You’ll need this to redeem your voucher code later.
Step 2 - Put the bikes and gear you want in your basket on https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/, place the order and note the value of your order.
Step 3 - Submit a voucher request to GCI. Please ensure the value of the voucher request is the exact same as the total order value on your canyon.com basket.
Step 4 - Once your application has been approved, Green Commute Initiative will email you agreement documents. Sign and return them, and Green Commute Initiative will send you your voucher code.
Step 5 - Back on canyon.com, log in to your Canyon account, view your order details and enter the voucher code. As soon as we validate your order, it will be shipped.

Business Bike FAQs

- GCI is unique in not charging employees a settlement fee to buy the bike at the end of the leasing period. Other providers charge them up to 7% of the initial value of the bike to transfer ownership. GCI simply transfers ownership to the employee automatically.
- You have to be employed on PAYE (UK employed tax scheme). If you are a sole trader, then you can’t lease with GCI. If you are the sole employee of a Ltd company and pay yourself a salary, then you can.
- If your job ends, your leasing payment plan can also end early. You’ll need to work out a way to settle any remaining amounts with your employer.
- You can’t return bikes after 30 days unless they’re defective. If your bike is defective, Canyon can offer a replacement or a refund. If Canyon doesn’t deliver the bike within a reasonable time and you want to cancel because of non-delivery, you’ll get a refund.
- If your bike gets stolen, the leasing agreement stays the same. GCI recommends insuring your bike and offers discounted policies through their partners.
