Hybrid bikes and city bikes meet the needs of recreational cyclists from gravel trails to the city streets. Here's our guide on how to choose the best for you.

What’s so special about a women’s touring bike?

Whether you’re planning day tours riding through the forest and the countryside or longer distance touring holidays, it’s all possible on a women’s touring bike. A women’s touring bike combines the sporty riding characteristics of a mountain bike with the comfort and ease of a city bike. Not only that, but it’s easy to install additional accessories such as luggage racks and mudguards.

A sporty women’s touring bike is reminiscent of the conventional trapezoid bike frames of popular modern bicycles. The top tube on these touring bikes (and many e-bikes) is positioned halfway up the seat tube and tilted slightly to make it easier to mount the bike while offering significantly more stability than a classic step-through bike.

As a general rule, women’s touring bikes are fully equipped for adventure and utility. It’s common to have mudguards on the front and rear wheels as well as a set of premium bike lights. This makes women’s touring bikes ready to ride any time of day or night and in any weather. Touring bikes for women are geared towards comfort despite a sportier seating position than a traditional city bike. Most touring bikes have suspension in the front fork to dampen any bumps in the road ahead.

How do women find the right frame size?

Riding the right size frame is essential for a comfortable experience on your touring bike. It’s therefore important you invest some time in finding the right size. It doesn’t matter if you’re short or tall. The ratio between your upper body and legs is also not a problem with Canyon’s Perfect Positioning System (PPS). You’re guaranteed to find the right size touring bike.

All our models are unisex, however some of our bikes have WMN in the title. These bikes have handlebars and saddles tailored for the female body shape and anatomy.

Touring Bikes for Women - Equipment Highlights

All our touring bikes for women are suitable for exciting adventures, relaxed bike tours and even the daily commute into work. Since touring bikes can bring so many advantages to your lifestyle, we’ll explain a few equipment highlights we think will benefit you even more.

Touring bikes with and without electric assistance

Women’s touring bikes are available with and without an electric motor. Depending on where you plan to ride and your fitness level, you can choose whether you have electric assistance or not. Our touring e-bikes are equipped with high-quality and powerful Bosch motors and provide you with consistent support when you need a helping hand.

Equipment to improve your comfort on bike tours

Our e-touring bikes are equipped to a high standard. In addition to a luggage rack and lighting system, we’ve fitted robust front and rear mudguards. Ergonomic handlebar grips and saddles, hydraulic disc brakes and precise gear shifting complete the package of our touring bikes.

The best of both worlds

Our touring bikes for women bridge the gap between sporty mountain bike and relaxed city bike. Our touring bikes are therefore suitable for bike tours within the city limits and for adventures off the beaten track. Thanks to wider tyres and a suspension fork, you can ride forest and gravel paths just as comfortably as paved urban bike paths.

Sporty and comfortable all in one bike

The balance of a sporty riding experience and sufficient comfort makes our women’s touring bikes popular. Riding comfort is maintained on long tours, so that you can keep pedalling powerfully.
