Cyclocross is where Mathieu van der Poel emerged onto the world stage. Following in his father Adri’s tyre tracks, as a developing rider it’s where he honed his bike handling skills, fine-tuned his engine and tested his race craft.

The result is what we see today, one of the finest all-rounders and most exciting racers in the sport.

Cross discipline dominance

While most pro road riders are taking time out, MVDP returns to the ‘cross course for high intensity race efforts in cycling’s heartlands.

With the the heat of the frites stands and the buzz of the beer tents, he attacks in front of passionate crowds for his annual winter ritual.

This tradition, this cycle, is key to his year-round success in the Classics, the Grand Tours and on the mountain bike. It all comes from cyclocross.

Valkenburg, Netherlands — 2018

The Low.

After a dominant season, in front of an expectant home crowd, Mathieu was bettered on the day by his Belgian peer and fellow cyclocross trailblazer, Wout van Aert. A bronze medal is little consolation.

Bogense, Denmark — 2019

The Release.

Mathieu gets one back over Wout van Aert in a close-fought contest, the release of emotion as he crosses the line is clear for all to see.

Dübendorf, Switzerland — 2020

The Virtuoso Performance.

Mathieu does not put a wheel wrong throughout a technical mud fest in Switzerland, finishing with flair after putting on a dominant display.

Ostend, Belgium — 2021

The Beach Battle.

Van Aert and MVDP throw down again, riding away from the competition with Mathieu eventually getting the better of his rival in the waves.

Hoogerheide, Netherlands — 2023

He’s back.

After conceding his Rainbow Jersey in 2022 due to injury, Mathieu heads into another home World Championships in form, as the hot favourite and in front of a Dutch crowd.

Simple to shoulder

The Inflite’s seat kink balances the bike’s weight when it’s on your shoulder. This saves you valuable time and energy and stops the wheels getting caught on obstacles.

For extra comfort, it also lets the seatpost flex more by increasing its effective bending length by gripping it lower down.

Lightweight but super tough, our single-piece handlebar and stem cockpit can withstand bunnyhops over hurdles or being hauled on during ridiculously steep, muddly climbs.
