Patrick Lange is an athlete like no other. Consistently winning – and breaking records – at the world’s biggest triathlon races, his results speak for themselves.
Duly crowned the ‘King of Kona’ after his three victories at the IRONMAN World Championships in 2017, 2018, and 2024, he’s done it all with the help of another stand-out triathlon performer: the Canyon Speedmax.

Riding with royalty

The Speedmax held the title ‘King of Kona’ for five straight years, and is widely known as one of the best set ups in world triathlon. It’s a bike Patrick has played a key role in developing, as he underwent extensive and regular wind tunnel testing for the new generation Speedmax.
The findings and his feedback played an important role in ensuring that the bike was as aerodynamic as possible while minimising crosswind impact - a key factor, especially in the difficult conditions often seen in Hawaii. This is particularly important for lighter athletes like Patrick to ensure optimum handling even in strong crosswinds. The rest, as they say, was history.
