If there were any doubters, they were quickly silenced at the 2019 Amstel Gold Race. Displaying his trademark combination of raw power and searing speed with a relentless solo chase from the chasing pack before emphatically outsprinting his rivals at the death, MVDP showed he had what it takes to best the world’s finest riders against all the odds.
